Today TVLine gave a slight spoiler to the season finale of Elementary:
As Sherlock reels at the reappearance of his former lover, Irene Adler (Natalie Dormer), a series of flashbacks unravel the tumultuous events that led to his downfall into addiction. Meanwhile, he and Joan once again find themselves in the crosshairs of the enigmatic Moriarty.
As we remember from episode 6, Roger Rees' character Allistair helped Sherlock during his downfall after the death of Irene Adler and was the first to tell Watson who Irene Adler was. The episode mentions flashbacks to those days and it would only seem fitting that Allistair returns again. This would give Elementary fans who have not watched episode six a chance to know who Allistair is and still a shocking (although not as shocking as watching it all the episodes) twist to who Moriarty is?
